corrective eyelid surgery
The eyelid is a complex anatomical structure composed of eight layers piled one on top of the other into a "sandwich" a few millimeters thick.
Anatomical and functional problems may develop when only one layer is flawed. Any abnormality in the palpebral structure can have serious consequences for the eye and for vision.
Often these problems are caused by aging, trauma or congenital malformation. They usually require surgical intervention.
- ptosis : a collapse in the upper eyelid due to weakness in the levator muscle.
- ectropion : a partial or total outward turning of the rim of the eyelid.
- entropion : A partial or total inward turning of the rim of the eyelid.
- palpebral tumours tumorous growths in conjunctival tissue
- sty localized swelling on the eyelids
