Palpebral tumours
The variety of palpebral tumors ranges from the benign seborrheic wart to the malignant carcinoma. In general, treatment for palpebral tumors begins with biopsy, especially if a wide excision and eventual reconstruction is called for. In some cases, the entire tumor can be removed without delay when:
- it’s small enough to be excised without difficulty
- when its malignant appearance requires rapid removal
The three imperatives of this oculoplastic surgery are:
- to completely remove the tumor
- tto restore the static and dynamic character of the palpebral region
- to restore symmetry and minimize cosmetic damage
