Patients who are dissatisfied with the results of their blepharoplasty should begin by consulting their surgeon to discuss the problem and identify possible solutions.
The majority of post-operative complications gradually disappear in three to six months. Occasionally, surgical intervention is required for:
- Under-correction (Insufficient tissue removal is generally easily repaired.)
- Over-correction. (These cases result from an over-aggressive blepharoplasty and are more challenging to treat.)
- Post-blepharoplasty protuberant eye : too much skin is removed from the lower eyelid
- Post-blepharoplasty sunken eye : post-Blepharoplasty Sunken Eye: Too much fatty tissue is removed from the eye area, creating a "skeletal" look
